How To Do A Roast Beef Grab

roast-beef-grab-1Pull a roast beef out of your bag of tricks and provide your friends with a chuckle and yourself with a little bit of snowboarding fun.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Practice

Here's How:

  1. Ride straight at a roller with the base of your board flat.
  2. Spring as hard as you can off the lip of the jump.
  3. Suck your legs up as far as possible.
  4. Grab your board on the heelside edge between your legs with your rear hand. (Don't reach around your legs, that's a stalefish.)
  5. Put your other arm into the air.
  6. Let go of your grab and extend your legs for the landing.
  7. Absorb the landing and ride away.

Tips & Warnings

Don't worry about grabbing the snowboard for less than a second when you are learning the trick. It takes time to make grabbing the board with a Roast Beef natural and automatic.
Work on getting your Ollies higher to give you more time to do the Roast Beef grab when you Ollie off a ramp, jump or bump.
The Roast Beef tends to be easier on straight jumps without any spinning.
Be sure to wear wrist guards, pads and a helmet while working on the Roast Beef and other new tricks. Wearing pads is cooler than sitting at home healing up after an avoidable injury.
